Where Heritage Meets Handloom — Since 1942

In the year 1942, amidst the quiet rhythm of village life in Bhatkal, Karnataka, a loom was set in motion — not by machines, but by skilled hands and a generational love for the art of weaving.

That loom belonged to Ismail Lungis, a weaver with a vision — to craft premium lungis and dhotis that weren’t just garments, but expressions of tradition, comfort, and identity. What began as a modest family effort soon became a legacy — passed down from father to son, artisan to apprentice, thread by thread.

Today, Ismail Lungis stands tall as a heritage brand with more than 80 years of unbroken tradition. Our identity is deeply rooted in South Indian culture, yet our philosophy is simple and timeless:

🔨 Woven by Artisans. Not Algorithms.

We are proud to say that every product we make is handwoven on manual looms by our own in-house artisans in Bhatkal — many of whom are third- and fourth-generation weavers. These are not factory workers. They are craftsmen. Storytellers in cotton and rhythm.

Each lungi, dhoti, and kurta that leaves our looms is unique — bearing the signature of human touch, care, and precision. No automation. No shortcuts. Only slow, deliberate weaving — just as it was done in 1942.

When you wear an Ismail Lungi, you're not just putting on a piece of fabric —

you're wearing the soul of a village, the pride of a family, and the skill of generations.

👨‍🏭 The Heartbeat of Ismail: Our Artisan Families

At the core of Ismail Lungis is a small but dedicated community of weavers — real people, real families, whose livelihoods are supported and celebrated through this brand. Many of them have been with us for decades. Their hands have aged with the loom, but their pride remains steady.

We believe in preserving not just tradition, but people. That’s why we continue to train young artisans, revive forgotten weave patterns, and maintain complete control over the entire process — right from yarn to your doorstep.
